About Kanaria Tech
Kanaria Tech is building an end-to-end foundation navigation model for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). Using transformer-driven world models, the company enables robots to navigate safely in unstructured spaces without traditional SLAM hand-tuning. Kanaria Tech is aiming to achieve level-4 autonomous navigation — a first in the world.
Role Overview
The AMR Robotics Engineer will lead initiatives across simulation, navigation stack development, sim-to-real transfer, and sensor integration. This role is crucial to accelerate product milestones and support the AI team’s model deployment efforts.
Key Responsibilities
-
Build and maintain Isaac Sim environments for large-scale data generation, testing, and CI.
-
Implement and refine ROS 2 navigation modules (localization, mapping, planning, control) on real robots.
-
Design robust sensor pipelines integrating LiDAR, RGB-D, IMU, wheel odometry, and GPS.
-
Lead sim-to-real transfer initiatives including calibration tooling, domain randomization, and validation metrics.
-
Collaborate with AI teams to supply datasets, enable on-robot inference, and integrate feedback loops.
-
Document and standardize engineering processes.
Example Outcomes (6–12 months)
-
Deploy a photorealistic warehouse simulation scene generating over 1M training frames.
-
Deliver a plug-and-play navigation stack achieving 99.5% mission completion in simulation and 95% in prototype testing.
-
Cut sim-to-real failure rates by over 40% through calibration and domain adaptation pipelines.
-
Integrate LiDAR, stereo, and IMU sensors on Jetson Orin, maintaining pose drift under 5 cm over 100 meters.
-
Enable the AI team to ship models 30% faster through reproducible data-collection scripts.
Required Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in AMR development and field deployment.
-
Expertise with Isaac ROS, Isaac Sim, and ROS 2 (Foxy/Humble) navigation stacks.
-
Proven success delivering autonomy on production robots (warehousing, logistics, etc.).
-
Deep sensor integration skills: calibration, synchronization, and real-time fusion.
-
Proficiency in C++ and Python; familiarity with Git, Docker, and GPU-based CI/CD pipelines.
-
Professional English proficiency (Japanese is a plus but not required).
Preferred Qualifications
-
Ability to quickly interpret technical research and translate it into prototypes.
-
Experience with generative AI (e.g., diffusion models, LLMs, world-model agents).
-
Background in reinforcement learning or differentiable robotics.
-
Contributions to open-source robotics initiatives.
Compensation
Kanaria Tech offers a competitive salary and meaningful equity options. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and location.
