About this role

Omniscient Digital is expanding, and we need your help to continue crafting top-notch content for our clients.

We’re hiring a Managing Editor & Operations Lead to own our content production process and bridge the gap between our SEO strategy and editorial execution.

This is the perfect role for someone experienced in writing, content strategy, copy and SEO editing, client management, and editorial organization—even more so if you’re excited by the idea of growing a small company quickly.

You’ll be given a huge amount of freedom to grow this part of our business, so if that kind of ownership excites you, read on.

Your responsibilities

Your job as the Managing Editor & Operations Lead would include …

  • Working with our SEO and Editorial Strategists to build top-notch content strategies for clients—some of the most well-known B2B software companies in the world.

  • Leading all client engagements and/or delegating client questions to the best-fit subject matter expert

  • Partnering with our Head of Content to source, interview, and hire writers to staff client accounts, as well as maintain relationships with our team of writers through constructive feedback and routine updates

  • Editing (for SEO, grammar, and accuracy) all client content deliverables

  • Performing quality assurance for all client strategies, content deliverables, and correspondence

  • Managing the entire content calendar and production process for each client, including but not limited to managing the project management board in Asana, files in Google Drive, and automations in Zapier

  • Being the ‘glue’ that holds each project together and ensuring all content gets delivered on time and in near-perfect quality

  • Being in touch with all content strategy team members to maintain a pulse on all content strategy operations—if we want to know what’s happening, we’ll come to you

Who you are

  • You’re experienced in SEO and content. You have 2-3 years of experience with SEO, keyword research, and content marketing. You are familiar with tools such as Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Asana, Notion, Clearscope, Loom, Google Analytics, and more.

  • You’re meticulous. Whether it be a well-placed comma, a pixel-perfect design, or clear communication, you sweat the details.

  • You seek feedback. You’re eager to learn new things to grow and improve your skills.

  • You believe in punctuality. Deadlines are not optional for you.

  • You’re an intellectually curious critical thinker. Time flies by as you find yourself researching interesting topics or finding creative ways to solve a problem.

  • You’re process-oriented. You try to be as efficient as possible, usually by creating checklists and systems. You’re always looking for ways to improve a process.

  • You make great decisions quickly. You have a bias toward action and learning on the fly. You don’t shy away from making the best decision at the moment, knowing that you can iterate and improve as you go.

  • You’re adaptable. You’re flexible and agile. You realize that things change and often don’t work out perfectly, so you do what needs to be done and keep moving forward.

  • You’re great at working independently. You’re comfortable setting and achieving your own goals and can communicate what you’re working on. You don’t need or want to be managed, and you don’t depend on stress or high-pressure environments to get shit done.

  • You’re not an asshole. We spend a lot of our days engaging with our coworkers and clients. There’s no room for assholes. You’re friendly, eager to jump in and take ownership, and love to work as a team to be successful.

Benefits of working with us

We’re here to help you grow and do great work.

  • We’re a 100% remote company, so you can work from anywhere.

  • By working at a small company with multiple clients, you’ll improve your SEO, editorial, marketing, and project management skills faster than you would at a big company.

  • Ample opportunities to take on more responsibility.

  • We’ll coach you up toward becoming a world-class marketer.

  • We take team trips each year to cities like LA, Boston, Austin, or Chicago to get some time together in person.
